England security team arrived in Dhaka

Post  Admin on Thu Aug 18, 2016 1:14 am

A security team from England has arrived in Dhaka, Bangladesh on Wednesday. The team will observe the security situations in Dhaka.

The team landed in Dhaka at 11:30 am by a Jet Airways flight. Red Dickson, John Kart and David Leatherwales are the thee members of English security team. They are currently staying at Raddison hotel in the capital.

The delegation includes ECB Security Advisor Reg Dickason, PCA Chief Executive David Leatherdale and ECB’s director of Cricket Operations John Carr.

This is primarily a routine visit of security delegates before any England tour, but it has gained additional importance after the recent terrorist attack in Gulshan, Dhaka which left at least twenty people dead.

BCB Media Committee Chairman Jalal Yunus said that they have been keeping constant communication with ECB for last several months and would facilitate meeting with other top officials if the delegates want to.

“Terrorism is not an issue now only in Bangladesh but also in many parts of the world like London, Paris or India. But it doesn’t mean the sports should be stopped” – Jalal Yunus said.

They will meet Australian high commissioner. They also meet the high commissioners of United Kingdom and United Kingodm. On day two, they will meet Home minister. The team will meet Director-Generals of BGFI, RAB, Police and BGB as well at the same time at Home ministry.

They will move to Chittagong on third day. On their last day of the tour, they will have a meeting with BCB President Nazmul Hassan Papon and others. They team may also meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
