Dhaka Gladiators set to start practice camp

When the premier league clubs took a stern decision not to release their players for playing the BPL unless the Premier Division Cricket League starts again, BPL franchise Dhaka Gladiators on Thursday announced that the practice campaign of the team will be kicked off on Friday. The Dhaka Gladiators management informed that both local and foreign cricketers will join the practice session which will be held at GP-BCB National Academy Ground, Mirpur.
The players of the Dhaka Gladiators also checked in their team hotel, said a player on condition of anonymity.

He said that the local clubs also released their players on Wednesday for playing the BPL.

Meanwhile, Australian leg-spinner Stuart McGill withdrew him from the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) on Wednesday.

McGill was the second foreign cricketer to put off his name after West Indies skipper Darren Sammy decided not to play in BPL.

Dhaka Gladiators which purchased McGill for a base price of US$ 50,000 said in a press release that McGill skipped BPL due to some personal reason.

t also said that Pakistan all-rounder Azhar Mahmood replaced Australian bowler Stuart McGill. They purchased Azhar Mahmood with a base price of USD$ 100,000. Azhar was unsold in the BPL Players Auction.
Duronto Rajshahi on the other hand continued their three-day long concert programme in North Bengal region.
Icon player and national skipper Mushfiqur Rahim and Zunaed Siddique were present during the programme of Rajshahi at Natore Stadium on Thursday.

In another development it was learnt that Sylhet Royals has signed a deal with Dhaka Regency as their hospitality partner on Thursday. Sylhet Royals managing director Mizanur Rahman, vice-chairman Atiqur Rahman, director Koushik Hossein Tapash, Dhaka Regency chairman Kabir Reza and Navorathna Sri Narayan Das, chairman of Global Neway, the title sponsor the team, were present on the occasion.
