Graham Ford to coach Barisal Bulls

Post  Admin on Sat Oct 17, 2015 4:04 pm

As the third edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is going to be commenced from 22nd of November, the six franchises have started to organize their team in full extent.

Franchises are trying to fix the fence for their teams in all means – from appointing coaching staff to signing the players.

“Barisal Bulls” have confirmed the participation of Graham Xavier Ford as their Head Coach. The former coach of Sri Lanka National Cricket Team, Graham Ford will give his services to “Barisal Bulls” during BPL.

Barisal has contacted with him and all the matters are finalized. Graham Ford started his coaching career in 1992 when he became the coach of Natal and led the province to victory in both first class and one day tournaments in 1996–97.

Ford’s impressive results at home earned him a role with the South African ‘A’ side in 1998 and with the senior side, as assistant to Bob Woolmer in 1999.

On 9th of June 2007, he was offered the position of coach of the Indian Cricket team, but he declined the offer.

Then, in 2012 he became the head coach of Sri Lanka National cricket team. He was also the head coach of the England’s one of the best domestic teams Surrey County Cricket Club.

It should be mentioned that West Indies opener Chris Gayle will play for Barisal Bulls while Zimbabwe’s former Captain Brendon Taylor will also play for Barisal.

Apart from them, the franchise has been trying to sign the English middle-order batsman Kevin Pieterson and West Indies all-rounder Kieron Pollard.
