Jurgensen eyes on final

Post  Admin on Fri Nov 20, 2015 6:10 am

Rangpur Riders coach Shane Jurgensen on Thursday said his team will be one step ahead of the other teams during the third season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), because of the presence of world’s best all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan in the team.

“Naturally we will have the advantage because of having Shakib in our tent. He is the inalienable part of our team. He is the most experienced T20 player of Bangladesh. He has vast experience of playing a lot of T20 games outside the country as well. Overall he is one of the best players of the BPL,” said Jurgensen ahead of Rangpur’s opening game against Barisal Bulls on November 22.

Jurgensen also revealed his desire to take the team to the final. “Our main target is to play the final of the tournament. If we can progress to the final, then anything can be possible. We want to win the title. Our team is well balanced. But you never know what comes next in cricket, specially in the shortest format of the game. An over can change the entire game. We might be a formidable side but what is more important is to prove that in the field.”
