Hafeez refuses to play BPL alongside Amir

Post  Admin on Sat Nov 21, 2015 11:41 am

The Bangladesh Premier League Twenty20 is all set to put on an electrifying third season. The third season of the BPL will roll onto the ground from tomorrow. But just prior to the commencement of the tournament, Jang revealed a quite interesting news that Pakistan batsman Mohammad Hafeez has turned down a lucrative offer from BPL’s one of the six franchises Chittagong Vikings to play in the team since they had also signed tainted pacer Mohammad Amir.

According to the report, the senior batsman from Pakistan apparently turned down an offer of around 10 million Pakistani rupees as the franchise had already signed on Amir. “It is not about individuals or any personality clash. It is about the image of Pakistan cricket. I cannot play with any player who has tarnished and brought a bad name to the country,” Hafeez was quoted as saying by Jang, which is a Dubai based newspaper.

It is to be noted this year’s prestigious domestic T20 tournament of Bangladesh has attracted around 16 top Pakistani cricketers and most of these players will go to Dhaka directly from Dubai after the completion of the upcoming T20 series against England. The top players include Saeed Ajmal, Umar Akmal, Shahid Afridi, Kamran Akmal, Yasir Shah, Wahab Riaz etc. Besides Pakistan Test skipper Misbah-ul-Haq will also have his stint in the BPL.
